Natural origin from Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe …. naturally grow along the river, forest cover in the wet, fertile land. It has been introduced to most tropical and subtropical countries to produce feed for livestock. The elephant grass was imported to Vietnam in 1960

– Biological characteristics:

The standing body grows into dust, perennial stem high leaves, grow strong, 2-3m high, leaves 30-120cm long, 1-5cm wide.

Planting once harvested from 3-5 years if good care grass can harvest for up to 10 years.

Fast growing, high productivity, can be harvested all year round – High yield of 200-250 tons / ha / year

Adapt to different soil types

Harvesting: the first batch after 80-90 days, the next batch after 45-60 days.

– Variety:

Planted with 7-8 tons of cuttings / ha

– Decomposed manure:

15 to 20 tons, super phosphate: 250 – 300kg, potassium sulphate: 150 – 200kg, urea: 400 – 500kg
